Saturday: Introduction to Medical Massage from Theory to Application.
This day of lecture stimulates and challenges the mind opening your professional horizon to the clinical application of Medical Massage. The goal is to build a mental vision of the Medical Massage Concept based on the best scientific data with complete resource support.
Sunday: Medical Massage Protocol for Anterior Scalene Muscle Syndrome / Thoracic Outlet.
Today all the pieces of the puzzle fall into place. Using hands-on training we establish a logical understanding of the science-based pattern of soft tissue rehabilitation using the Medical Massage Concept. The second you experience the “aha” moment you will be able to use the same pattern over and over to formulate Medical Massage Protocols for more than 70 of America’s most common somatic disorders through SOMI’s publications, support and the Video Library.
The hands-on topic is Anterior Scalene Muscle Syndrome focusing on the anatomy and physiology of Scalene Muscles, their relation to Brachial Plexus, Subclavian Artery and Vein; evaluation of Anterior Scalene Muscle Syndrome/Thoracic Outlet Syndrome and Medical Massage treatment Protocol.
Monday: Tensor Fascia Latae Muscle Syndrome / Tension in the Iliotibial Band.
This 8-hour hands-on class covers the most frequent cause of lateral tight and knee pain. During the class we review the anatomy and physiology of the Tensor Fascia Latae muscle and IT Band, evaluation of the tissues on a layer by layer basis followed by a clear step by step Medical Massage protocol.
Author, teacher and physician Dr. Ross Turchaninov is the founder of The Science of Massage Institute (SOMI) and is recognized as America’s leading expert in scientifically based Medical Massage therapy. He has published more than 50 articles in medical journals and authored three books, including Medical Massage, Volume I Second Edition, considered the authority on Medical Massage in America. His institute has analyzed and distilled the last 100 years of clinical trials from throughout the Western World to bring you incontrovertible evidenced based learning at the highest level.
We guarantee that every technique and protocol is backed by scientific clinical data. You will have personal instruction from Dr. Turchaninov as well as daily communication through FORUM. SOMI also developed a Video Library containing videos of evaluation of the pathology with every step of all 70 protocol treatments that make practicing Medical Massage easy and exciting – even after the seminar is over!
This CEU training and the 1,000 resources that SOMI Medical Massage is based on have been tested by Saybrook University and are now being successfully used in major hospitals and Medical Institutions such as Barrow Neurological Institute and Dignity Health, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center.
You will receive an outline and course materials with resources in a comprehensive Training Guide. When you register for the seminar, you’ll be sent an email notice that the billing went through plus a confirmation providing seminar details. Books will be available to examine and/or purchase.
