SEMINAR PROGRAM
Day 1. Basic Medical Massage Techniques. Hands-On Training Course
Studying and practicing Medical Massage without a solid scientific understanding of Medical Massage techniques and their clinical application is impossible.
In this class, we will cover the science behind all clinical variations of Medical Massage techniques developed within the Western School of Massage Therapy. Some of the techniques presented may also be incorporated into full-body massage sessions, elevating preventive massage therapy practice to a new level.
Day 2. Medical Massage Protocol for Pectoralis Major and Minor Muscle Syndrome. Hands-On Training Course
This class presents the evaluation and treatment of patients with tension and spasms of the pectoralis major and minor muscles. From mimicking cardiac pain in the form of False Cardialgia Syndrome to a wide range of upper-extremity functional abnormalities, pectoral muscle tension is frequently misdiagnosed and mistreated as a somatic syndrome.
This course will address the anatomical and pathological foundations of these conditions, followed by a detailed, layer-by-layer soft tissue evaluation and hands-on application of the Medical Massage treatment protocol.
Day 3. Piriformis Muscle Syndrome / Sciatica. Hands-On Training Course
This class focuses on the piriformis muscle—often referred to as the key to lower-extremity function. We will cover its anatomy, physiology, pathology, and examination, with special attention to the primary causes of piriformis muscle tension and its critical anatomical relationship with the sciatic nerve.
Participants will learn detailed, layer-by-layer evaluation of the soft tissues in the gluteal region, followed by a step-by-step Medical Massage protocol designed to decompress the skin, fascia, posterior lumbar musculature, and periosteum of the lower back and gluteal area.
