SEMINAR PROGRAM

Day 1. Medical Massage Techniques

It is impossible to successfully practice Medical Massage without masterminding Medical Massage techniques. Our hands-on Medical Massage Basics class allows therapists to optimize their technical performance during the clinical application of massage therapy. Some techniques discussed during the class can be used as part of full-body massage sessions to build up a successful preventive massage therapy practice.

Day 2. Medical Massage Protocol for Pectoralis Major and Minor Muscle Syndromes

SOMI is offering a new hands-on training course evaluating and treating pectoral muscles’ tension following trauma, overload, or reflex zone formation. We also discuss anatomy, function, and pathology of the region. The final part of the discussion is the strategic role both muscles play in the normal functioning of the brachial plexus and its decompression using MM protocol.

Day 3. Medical Massage Protocols for Iliopsoas Muscle Syndrome

Aside from triggering lower back pain and various visceral dysfunctions in the abdominal cavity, the tension in the Iliopsoas Muscle is one of the leading causes of anterior thigh, knee, and leg pain due to the compression of the femoral and/or obturator nerves in the femoral canal.

SOMI is offering a new hands-on training course evaluating and treating Iliopsoas Muscle tension. Special attention is paid to the correct way of working on the iliopsoas, avoiding any compression forces applied in the abdominal cavity.
