Dear friends and colleagues,

Welcome to Issue # 1, 2012 of JMS. We hope that you will enjoy this issue and find information presented here helpful. Here is the content of the new issue:

We’re glad to inform our readers that our Appreciation Award for The Best Editorial Content in 2011 goes to Massage Today.

We would like you to help us choose The Best Case of the Month for 2011 by voting in our special section, “We need your help!”

In the Therapeutic Massage Section of JMS, Kathleen Gramzay, LMT contributed an interesting article on the incorporation of kinesiology into your massage practice. The article outlines basic information about this type of bodywork and explains the application of the Kinessage technique developed by the author.

In the Medical Massage Section we published an article entitled “Science of Clinical Interview.” We think that it is a very important topic since there are no basic guidelines to do clinical interview correctly, yet its success defines the overall outcomes of treatment. At the end of the article readers may print the Clinical Interview Form and use it as a guide to conduct interviews successfully.

The Case of the Month in this issue is contributed by Curt Lezanic, LMT. We think the author showed excellent clinical skills to isolate the real cause of the patient pain and restore her health using medical massage techniques.

As always, you will find important information in our Good Apples/Bad Apples Section of JMS.
Sincerely,

Dr. Ross Turchaninov,

Editor in Chief
